The Staff
Medical Director: Stephan DeNagy
MD, ASCP
Diplomat, American Board of Internal Medicine
Certified in Clinical Psychopharmacology by the American Society of
Clinical Psychopharmacology
Dr. DeNagy is the first generation American
son of Hungarian immigrant parents. As such, he was aware while growing up of
somehow being different. He was constantly reminded that his parents arrived
with pennies in their pockets and of the kindness of those who selflessly gave
to a pregnant woman and her husband who did not know the language or anyone
here in the USA.
Upon graduation and board certification in Internal
Medicine, he and Linda, his wife of 21 years, moved to American Falls to work
for a local non-profit agency that accepted National Health Service Corps grant
recipients. While completing this service, Dr. DeNagy met Dr. Thana and
discovered their mutual interests and visions for the holistic care of children
and families. They both felt the Lord had called them to serve in this manner
and so they worked together to establish the Family Care Center, Inc (FCC). It
has always been a non-profit agency in order to obtain and provide the maximum
resources for their clients and the communities that they serve.
Since the inception of FCC Dr. DeNagy considers himself
to have been uniquely blessed. First, blessed with his wonderful wife and two
young children who teach him all the things he never learned in school.
Secondly, blessed by his association with the fine staff that have or continue
to work at FCC. Thirdly, blessed by the opportunity to pursue both academic and
clinical pursuits to the benefit of his clients, the clinic, and community.
This has come about through his association with Idaho State University as a
clinical faculty member for a number of years, and now continuing this
association by way of teaching continuing education classes in
psychopharmacology for the Department of Counseling. Along with this is a busy
regional teaching schedule for a number of pharmaceutical companies that gives
him the opportunity to teach and meet general physicians and psychiatrists
across the Northwest. These teaching and associated learning experiences add to
his accomplishment of obtaining his certification in the practice of Clinical
Psychopharmacology, by the American Association of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
Finally, he has been most blessed by the remarkable
growth of the organization he and Dr. Thana founded. It has been an exciting
adventure thus far, but the adventure is just beginning. The needs that were
apparent two decades ago are only more extreme now. But with a unique synergy
of specialists under one roof he is thankful to be a part of the organization
that is Pearl House Family Services / Family Care Center, treating Mind,
Body, and Spirit.
